Even with its impressive range from Northeast India to SE Indonesia, the common Clubtail remains anything but common. Its bizarrely clubbed hind-wing tails appear to be more ornamental than functional and may even slow the already lilting flight of this striking species.
It is thought to be inedible because of the toxic plants it consumes in the larval phase. It's stark, architectural shape and markings add to the resulting austere presentation.
